About
My drive to make art comes from my fundamental identity as a maker. There is nothing more satisfying to me than the process of feeling an idea spark, planning its execution, and bringing it into reality with my hands. My practice is multidisciplinary. My core focus is painting, and there I explore as many avenues as I can, working in acrylic on canvas, oil on panel, ink, and watercolour on paper. I have also recently started to work in 3D with thrown and altered ceramics, plaster casting, and metal sculpture. Ideas often have a way of leading me towards the right medium for their expression, and an important part of my practice is continual exploration of new materials and skills.
Art has always been a way for me to communicate with people. As a shy individual, expressing my inner self through an art practice has been a wonderful and fulfilling way to open up to new relationships and connections. Through training and education, I have learned to channel meaning and intention into my work to share and relate ideas and emotions to the viewer. My most recent explorations in meaning have revolved around nature and our relationship to it as humans, as well as the human figure and its many shapes and expressions.
As an emerging artist, I feel I have limitless possibilities and opportunities for continued growth and learning, as well as teaching and connection through my artwork.
